Beyond new-energy power batteries, Jutai is diversifying into long-duration energy storage batteries for wind and solar power generation. In 2022, the company entered a strategic partnership with Zhoushan, Zhejiang Province, to build a new energy storage materials production base with an investment of RMB 3.5 billion.
Energy storage provides a fundamental solution to the intermittency of solar and wind power. As such, it enables the reliable and effective utilization of these renewable sources. For energy-intensive enterprises in particular, integrating solar and wind power can significantly reduce dependence on fossil fuels, allowing green electricity to become the primary energy source for industrial operations.
Jutai is uniquely positioned to lead this transition through three key advantages: Proprietary technology in vanadium redox flow battery (VRFB) energy storage;Large-scale production capacity supported by substantial energy demand; A strategic location for its Zhoushan production base in Dinghai Industrial Park, which offers proximity to the sea, abundant offshore wind resources, and sufficient solar irradiation.
Leveraging these three strategic advantages, Jutai has pioneered the plan for the Zhejiang Jutai Zhoushan Zero-Carbon Smart Industrial Park. The plan includes installing PV panels on factory rooftops, constructing offshore wind farms on nearby hills, along the coast, and farther out at sea, and building a dedicated VRFB energy storage power station. These elements will be integrated via a microgrid to combine power generation, storage, and consumption into a unified system. Supported by smart management and automated production, this model will enable green manufacturing and achieve zero carbon emissions at the Zhoushan production base.
